What will your typical day look like?

You manage a portfolio of key clients and are responsible for the full engagement life cycle for various actuarial projects and actuarial engagements. You have deep understanding of your clients’ business and the insurance industry and contribute to business development opportunities. 
You can expect to:
  • Lead teams and engagements in economic capital modelling, determination of loss reserves, risk management, audit support and other actuarial consulting engagements for a range of clients.
  • Train teams on tools, new technologies, and industry standards. 
  • Develop and coach your team, taking pride in your work and leading the team with integrity. 
  • Participate in business development, proposals, client presentations and marketing activities.

Our actuaries regularly partner with actuaries globally on cross-border engagements as well as professionals in accounting and other specialist service lines. We have a proven track record in developing robust and practical solutions to a variety of actuarial and risk challenges. You are someone with:

  • A bachelor’s degree preferably in a related field; or equivalent qualification (i.e., ACCA).
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Institute of Actuaries or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in actuarial services, preferably within consulting.
  • Effective project management skills including experience leading engagements, or components of engagements, and supporting and reviewing work of junior team members. 
  • Experience with IFRS 17 and/or US GAAP LDTI implementation projects.
  • Experience with technical actuarial techniques in pricing and reserving.
  • Experience supporting business growth including selling, winning, and delivering consulting services. 
  • Experience working as actuarial specialist on audit engagements is an asset.
  • Experience with ILS is an asset.
